Tips for using Ask Profitero

For best performance:

Ask one question at a time. For example, instead of…

What was the out of stock rate for my product with the best performance for keyword paper towels?”

Try asking one question, and then a follow-up:

Which of my products performed best this month for keyword paper towels?”
“What is that product’s out of stock rate this month?”

Be specific and literal. Specify the date range you’re looking for (try “this month,” “October 2023,” etc). Whenever possible, use brand and custom category names verbatim as listed in your Profitero app (include punctuation, but don’t worry about case-sensitivity).

Keep it simple. Ask Profitero is currently designed to retrieve data from your Profitero datasets and answer basic questions. It can also build tables, which you can edit within the chat by prompting. It will have difficulty with broader analyses about your data (for example, “What is my biggest digital shelf opportunity?”). These capabilities are still in development.

What is Ask Profitero?
Ask Profitero is a chat-based AI assistant to help our clients easily navigate their Profitero Digital Shelf and Sales & Share data through a simple conversation. To start, Ask Profitero is designed as an assistant to help with quick access to data retrieval, building tables, and standard analysis such as review sentiment and summarization. In the future, we’ll build more and more analytical capabilities into the tool, and your participation as a beta tester will help us get there.

What is the Ask Profitero Beta?
Ask Profitero is still in development. We are asking clients to beta test the tool so that together we can build up its capabilities.

Is there a cost to join the beta?
Joining the beta is completely free of charge. Access will be enabled as part of your current subscription.

What does the beta involve?
Once the Ask Profitero beta is enabled in your account, you’ll be able to try it out as much as you like, and let us know what you think via the feedback button. You may also receive requests to provide more structured feedback via a survey.

How many users from my organization can join the beta?
Once the first user in your organization signs up for the beta and the account is enabled, all users in the account will automatically have access to Ask Profitero from within the Profitero app.

When does the beta start?
We are looking to enable access beginning in January 2024.

Will I get support?
As soon as you are granted access, you will receive an onboarding kit via email. This will include guidance on how to access Ask Profitero and tips on questions to ask in order to get the best results.

Is the data merged with other clients or is it shared with the consumer-facing Chat GPT interface?
Please be assured that your data remains completely separate from other clients. Through your personal authentication, Ask Profitero directs your queries exclusively to your specific data within the Profitero databases. These databases are structured to ensure a strict segregation of customer data, safeguarding the privacy and confidentiality of your information at all times.

Will other Profitero customers be able to access my product data?

No, as outlined above, personal authentication allows Ask Profitero users to converse only with their organization’s data and any data that Profitero collected from a publicly available source. No other Ask Profitero users may access your private data. The only product data that will be available to other Profitero customers will be that which you make publicly available on retailer websites.
