Written by Profitero | Feb 7, 2013 12:00:00 AM

Consumer electronics retailer RadioShack has appointed Joseph Magnacca, a Walgreen executive, as its new chief executive officer. He will take up the position on February 11.

Magnacca joined Walgreen three years ago when the company acquired the Duane Reade drug store chain. He helped drive the transformation of Walgreen’s drug stores into more upmarket outlets. Last week, the Walgreen executive was promoted to executive vice president and president of daily living products and solutions at the drugstore giant.

Bryan Pugh, the current VP of well experience deployment, will take over Magnacca’s responsibilities at Walgreen on an interim basis.
